 st) der Armenischen Kirche\, ist dem Gedenken der Verstorbenen vorbehalten
 . An diesem Tag besuchen die Menschen die Gräber ihrer verstorbenen Verwa
 ndten und ehren ihr Andenken mit Gebet und Weihrauch. Bei Anwesenheit eine
 s Priesters wird auch eine Seelenmesse gelesen und die Gräber werden gese
 gnet.\n\nMerelots ist ein Tag des Dankes und der Erkenntlichkeit nicht nur
  unserer Vorfahren gegenüber\, sondern auch derer\,\n\n– denen wir unse
 r Leben und Dasein verdanken\;\n– die sich für unser heutiges Wohl geop
 fert haben\;\n– die unerhörten Qualen\, Verfolgungen ausgesetzt wurden 
 und sogar gestorben sind\, damit wir heute leben können.\n– die ihr bew
 usstes Leben in den Dienst unseres christlichen Glaubens\, Vaterlandes und
  Volkes gestellt haben.\n\nAußer seiner tiefen religiösen Bedeutung hat 
 das Totengedenken auch einen vornehmen und wundervollen Sinn. Indem wir ei
 ne kleine Kerze anzünden\, etwas Weihrauch darbringen oder einen Blumenst
 rauß auf die Gräber unserer von uns gegangenen Verwandte und Freunde leg
 en\, fühlen wir uns wenigstens für einen Augenblick mit ihnen in Einheit
 \, und Himmel und Erde verbinden sich.\n\nGerne können Sie am Merelots di
